What Band or Musician is Most Important To You?
For me it would be a tie between Flyleaf and Lana Del Rey. I know they're kinda opposites in a way since Flyleaf is loud and Lana Del Rey tends to be more quiet and soft. The two contrasts depict the contrasts in my personality and life. Here's a few of my fave songs from both artists:

Describe the longest amount of time you have ever been away from home.
The longest time I've ever been away from home is a little over a month. It was a few years ago when I went down to Rolla to visit some friends. In that short amount of time I survived a tornado and another tornado close call. Rolla seems to be the worst when it comes to storms and tornadoes. I don't miss the storms, but I kinda miss some of the people. It's part country and part city in a way. Definately different than anything I had ever experienced. I'd like to go live with friends in another town, for a little, while again. Good times! :D

A New Year, A New Blog
2014 is here and I've decided to start a new blog. And without further ado...
If you had to switch your first name, what name would you choose and why?
My legal first name is Melissa. When I was born my parents had issues agreeing on a first name. They both agreed quite quickly on giving me the middle name Ann after my Aunt Melba (her middle name was also Ann) who passed away in a bad car accident on October 31, 1975 at the age of 21.
My father originally wanted to name me Jennifer and call me Jenny/Genny for short after his Aunt Genevieve (Genny) who passed away rather young from heart problems. My mother originally wanted to name me Heather Dawn (instead of using Ann as the middle name) or Shawna. Neither of them liked the other one's ideas for names so, they finally found a name they could agree on Melissa Ann after my Aunt Melba Ann. See what they did there? I thought it was actually kinda cool. :)
So, if I had to choose a different first name I'd choose Gennifer and go by Genny. Then I could have the namesake of two of my Aunts.
